I didn't have a lot of time to spend on web casting, but I did manage to listen to part of a SirsiDynix archived web cast entitled "Bite-Sized Marketing". Nancy Dowd, their director of marketing, talked about using new marketing strategies such as Web 2.0. She also discussed planning programs based on your patron's wants and needs, instead of choosing a pet project and using old-style 'push marketing'. I'm going to have to go back when I have more time and listen to the whole thing.
I've participated in Wimba sessions in the past, as well as other pod casts, etc. They are very useful and informative, and I can definely see where this is the path for the future. It's funny, I was just talking to my sister a few days ago about how it's almost to the point where if you have an internet connection, you never have to leave home.
